workshop entitled enhancing the regional trade & transport facilitation Under the Patronage of H.E. Minister of transport Dr. Lina Shbeeb

The executive secretariat for trade & transport facilitation had organized successfully the 3rd regional workshop entitled “enhancing the regional trade & transport facilitation”. The workshop brought more than 100 representatives & participants from the Arab & regional countries,  in addition to representatives from the foreign & Arab organizations & the delegates from the local public & private sectors,

The workshop has aimed directly to promote & enhance the coordination & cooperation between all the parties concerned.

Dr. Shbeeb during the opening of the workshop has focused on the Pioneering steps made by Jordan in TTF field, also H.E added,  that Jordan was one of the first countries that established national & technical committees specialized in facilitating the trade & transport on the local & regional level,  in addition to the international Level.

And added: the obstacles that face the transport & trade facilitation, which fall within the responsibilities of all countries in the region, still constitute the major cause of the low volume of trade between Arab countries.

Also H.E spoke about the objectives of the long term transport strategy & its regional dimension in terms of facilitating the procedures in border crossings & the development of the transport system on the roads & railways to make Jordan a regional hub for transport.

  The delegate of the European Union, Mr. Ferrero Gonzalez focused on  the vital importance of the workshop to promote cooperation between countries in the region  & to facilitate transport & trade between them & building the bridges of regional cooperation in this area. 
On the sidelines of the workshop, a memoranda of understanding was signed by the parties concerned for establishing a data warehouse for transport sector as a cornerstone in establishment a wider & more comprehensive system includes Arab countries.
