Jordan-Hejaz Railway Corporation (JHR) was established pursuant to Act no.23 for the year 1952 and assigned the mission of investing the railway property at the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan lands at the Syrian- Jordanian borders from the south. Along this line, the following stations spread out:Al Mafraq, Al Khirba Al Samra, Al Zarqa, Amman< Alqasr, Allibban, Aljeezah, Dhab"a, Khanazzabeeb, Swaqa, Qatraneh, Al Manzil
 The network operated by the corporation is 217 kms long. The corporation carries passengers between Amman and Damascus, and carries goods, upon request.


 
The Most Important Achievements of the Year 2010
                         
1.On 17/06/2010, the corporation celebatrated the independence of King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein throne proclamation, the Arab Great Revolution, and the Army Day. During the celebration, the corporation launched the following:
 
    a.The declaration of opening the special vehicle, by which King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, May Allah has mercy on him, traveled from Ma'an to Amman, after being repaired.
    b.Launching an encyclopedia of the Arab Revolution in cooperation with the Great Arab Revolution Sons' club, produced by a comprehensive field study for Al-Shami Pilgrimage route.

2.Maintaining the bridges and cross-tunnels along the line.

3.General maintenance for steam and diesel tractors, automotives, equipment and mobile tools.

4.Protecting the line dowments (Awkaf) from aggressive actions through marching patrols and shifts day and night all along the line 24 hours a day.

5.Working one reframing the corporation and the introduction of electronic archiving.

6.Holding several meetings with the Syrian party for consulting in the possibility of transporting Al Rajhi cement products from Al-Mafraq governorate to the Syrian Arab Republic by Train.

7.Promoting investment in the corporation lands and real –estates for finding out a new income source providing the corporation with the new financial proceeds.

8.Promoting touristic investment by increasing the numbers of various types of inbound and outbound trips in cooperation with tourism agencies, Ministry of Education and Higher Education. 

9.Sixteen (16) outbound touristic trips were operated to Der'a, transported (2852) passengers and (89) inbound touristics trips, transported (15977) passengers and (9) steam trains (locomotives), transported (510) foreign tourists
